How do I know what kind of coaching I need?
We will figure that out together. Coaching sessions are designed to support your most pressing concerns. After our first session, we will be better able to determine what kind of, and how much, support would be most beneficial to you.
Where do coaching sessions take place?
All coaching sessions are designed to take place online. You will be provided a secure link and will need access to a mobile device, tablet, or computer with an internet connection.
How long are the sessions?
Parent coaching sessions are typically 55 minutes. Executive function training and coaching start with 5 sessions, each lasting 55 minutes.
Do you offer weekend and evening hours?
Yes, we are available most evenings and Saturday mornings.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes, we work with families all over the world. The only requirements are that you speak either English or Spanish, and that you can meet during my normal business hours (Eastern Standard Time in the U.S.). Please contact us for availability.
Will you see your child?
This is at your discretion. Sometimes it is helpful to listen to the child’s perspective to create a complete, well-rounded intervention. Often, the root cause of many problems is a lack of clear communication between family members. It is important that everyone gets a say, so, from this perspective (depending on the child’s age and ability), it may be helpful for us to meet your child.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not currently accept health insurance; however, we are happy to provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement of out-of-network services/providers.
What are the payment and cancellation policies?
Payment is due 48 hours before the first scheduled session of any service. A prorated refund will be provided in the following circumstances:
- If Atypical Parenting Collective cancels any appointment and cannot offer an acceptable new time to reschedule.
- If a client cancels a session and requests a refund at least 5 business days in advance without an intent to reschedule.
Terms and Conditions
Atypical Parenting Collective offers individualized coaching sessions for neurodivergent individuals and their families. Coaching focuses on problem-solving, coping skills, communication, and providing resources and support. Coaches do not serve as therapists, advocates, mediators, or crisis responders, and coaching is not a substitute for therapy or behavioral health care.
Clients understand that coaches do not provide treatment, diagnosis, counseling, or professional advice in legal, financial, or medical matters.
The coach’s role is to guide and support skill-building and planning, while clients are responsible for putting plans into action. All discussions are confidential except when the coach is legally required to report information.
Coaching sessions must be scheduled and prepaid and can take place by phone or video. Sessions may be rescheduled in case of illness or emergency, with at least 48 hours’ notice required for other cancellations. Payment is required immediately upon completion of the session. If sessions are prepaid, refunds are given if the coach cancels and cannot reschedule, or if a client cancels at least two business days in advance without rescheduling.
