What is Executive Function Coaching?

Executive function is your brain’s way of helping you plan, get started, and finish things; keep track of time; remember what you’re working on; and handle tough emotions when things get stressful.

When these skills are stretched thin, even simple tasks—like paying bills, replying to messages, cleaning up, or starting a project—can feel overwhelming. This is really common for neurodivergent adults, especially those with ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, or who’ve gone through burnout.

For Neurodivergent Young Adults (14-22)

As a neurodivergent young adult, you may be facing new challenges as you transition into or out of high school, college, or other structured support systems. Questions about continuing education, social relationships, and accessing support services can quickly feel overwhelming.

An executive function coach can help you navigate these transitions, create effective routines and structure, and give you the confidence and guidance you need to achieve greater self-advocacy and success.

For Neurodivergent Adults (23+)

As a neurodivergent adult, you may be facing new challenges as you transition out of structured support systems. Questions about employment, independent living, continuing education, social relationships, and accessing adult services can quickly feel overwhelming, especially when support suddenly becomes less coordinated than it was during your school experience.

An executive function coach can help you navigate these transitions, create effective routines and structure, and give you the confidence and guidance you need to achieve greater independence and success.

What you’ll learn in Executive Function Coaching Sessions

Everyone’s executive function skills are a little different, and for neurodivergent people, these strengths and challenges can show up in unique ways. By understanding how your brain works, you can learn strategies that fit you best, build on what already comes naturally, and get the support you need in areas that feel more difficult.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • Why things like behavior charts, rewards, or consequences might not have worked for you—and what’s actually going on when you know what to do but still can’t get started or follow through. (You’re not lazy—this is about how your brain manages tasks, time, and energy.)
  • How to build the real-life skills behind getting things done—like starting tasks, staying organized, managing time, and keeping track of what matters—so you’re not just relying on willpower or last-minute pressure.
  • Simple ways to create routines that actually work for your brain (not against it), so daily things like getting ready, showing up on time, or handling responsibilities feel more automatic and less overwhelming.
  • How to use the right kind of support—like reminders, checklists, or working alongside someone—without feeling micromanaged, so you can still grow your independence.
  • How to stop feeling stuck in cycles of stress, shutdown, or procrastination—and instead use small, practical tools to reset, refocus, and figure out your next step when things get hard.
  • How to make supports work across different parts of your life—whether that’s school, a job, or living more independently—and how to ask for help or accommodations in a way that actually gets results.
  • How to build confidence in yourself—not by expecting perfection, but by understanding how your brain works, learning what helps, and knowing you can handle challenges even when things don’t go as planned.
